History of the Parish of St. Ann
The Parish of St. Ann was established in 1955 to minister to the growing number of Catholic vacationers along the Delaware beaches. It began as a mission of St. Edmond Parish in Rehoboth Beach before its mission status was transferred to St. Michael the Archangel in Georgetown. The parish eventually grew to full parish status, with Our Lady of Guadalupe in Frankford added as a mission worship site to serve Catholics further inland.
