History and Founding
Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish was established in 1945 in Clovis, New Mexico, on the high plains of eastern Curry County. It is one of two Catholic parishes in the city, alongside the older Sacred Heart Parish (1906). Parish IRS records show the legal entity was recognized as a tax-exempt church under the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops group ruling in March 1946. For nearly 80 years the parish has ministered to the bicultural Catholic population of Clovis and the surrounding farming and ranching communities, including the bilingual congregation served by its mission in Texico.

Becoming Catholic (RCIA / OCIA)
The parish offers the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (called OCIA — Order of Christian Initiation of Adults — in newer terminology) for those interested in becoming Catholic, completing their sacraments, or simply learning more about the Catholic faith. Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish is paired with San José Mission Church in Texico, New Mexico (about nine miles east of Clovis along U.S. 60/84).
