Why belong here
Our Lady of Grace (Vietnamese) Parish is a bilingual community where English-speaking and Vietnamese-speaking Catholics worship side by side in the same church — a rare arrangement that one Detroit Catholic story described as the first of America's Vietnamese parishes to formally include non-Vietnamese members. With about 700 registered families, Mass in English and Vietnamese each weekend, religious education, Vietnamese-language instruction through high school, an active Vietnamese Eucharistic Youth Society, and a peaceful Marian grotto on the grounds, it offers an unusually warm home for Vietnamese families preserving their language and Marian devotions while welcoming anyone who wants to join the worshipping community on Ryan Road.

History
The Vietnamese Catholic community that became Our Lady of Grace was gathered by Fr. Vincent Nguyen An Ninh in the late 1990s and met for roughly twelve years at a church in Eastpointe. Growth was so rapid that Mass-goers spilled into hallways to watch on closed-circuit monitors, and religious-education classrooms were over capacity. In 2011 the Archdiocese of Detroit arranged for the community to share the St. Cletus Parish property on Ryan Road in Warren, and on July 1, 2012 St. Cletus Parish was formally suppressed with its territory divided between St. Louise de Marillac and St. Mark parishes. The church building was transferred to Our Lady of Grace, making it the first Vietnamese Catholic parish in the United States to formally include non-Vietnamese members.
- Fr. Vincent Nguyen An Ninh led the Vietnamese community from c. 1999 onward
- Vietnamese community based in Eastpointe for ~12 years before moving to Warren in 2011
- St. Cletus Parish celebrated its 50th anniversary with Archbishop Allen Vigneron on June 4, 2012
- St. Cletus suppressed July 1, 2012; church building transferred to Our Lady of Grace
- Fr. Sidney Eckert served as St. Cletus administrator and helped welcome the Vietnamese community
The Marian Grotto
In October 2012 the parish dedicated an outdoor Marian grotto with a Vietnamese marble altar. According to Fr. Nguyen and Macomb Daily reporting, the grotto symbolizes the unique history of the combined Vietnamese and former-St. Cletus community, and it provides a dedicated space for prayer. The grotto also reflects the parish's promotion of the Vietnamese Marian devotion to Our Lady of La Vang.

The Vietnamese Eucharistic Youth Society (Thiếu Nhi Thánh Thể) is a flagship ministry with more than 90 children and young adults in scout-like uniforms, offering athletic activities, camping, and formation closer to the Eucharist.
