Our Lady of Grace is a Roman Catholic territorial parish in the Diocese of Greensburg, serving approximately 1,800 families on Mount Pleasant Road in Greensburg, Pennsylvania. Founded in 1910 as an Italian ethnic parish in the Hilltop section of Greensburg under the Diocese of Pittsburgh, the community has grown into a welcoming, multi-generational parish dedicated to helping parishioners grow in the love and knowledge of Jesus Christ through the Eucharist, formation, and service. Today it offers weekend and daily Mass, Eucharistic Adoration, a robust youth ministry, liturgical lay ministries, and outreach to the sick and homebound, in partnership with Saint Benedict Parish in Marguerite under its current pastor.

Our Lady of Grace is a large, multi-generational parish where Catholics and non-Catholics alike can find a spiritual home. The parish offers daily and weekend Mass with Eucharistic Adoration on Fridays, a staffed Parochial Vicar whose ministry focuses on visiting the sick and homebound, active Middle School and High School Youth Ministries, an array of liturgical lay ministries (choirs, cantors, altar servers, hospitality ministers, sacristans, extraordinary ministers of Holy Communion), and a deep commitment to community outreach that flows from the Eucharist. The parish also partners with Saint Benedict, Marguerite, sharing a pastor for wider regional ministry.

Parish History
Our Lady of Grace was established on February 23, 1910, as an Italian ethnic parish in the Hilltop section of Greensburg, then part of the Diocese of Pittsburgh. Its founding pastor was Father Nicola Albanese, who initially worked out of Seton Hill College before renting a small storeroom on the corner of Tremont and Highland avenues; a first dedicated church was completed in 1916, built largely by Italian masons, and still stands in the neighborhood as a residence. By 1960 the parish had grown to 340 families, and Bishop William G. Connare authorized a new, larger church on Mount Pleasant Road and re-designated the parish as a territorial parish open to all; that church was dedicated December 6, 1964. In 1951 the parish had come under the newly created Diocese of Greensburg. Under Monsignor Lawrence R. Kiniry, the current church was dedicated July 11, 1999, and the 1964 church became Albanese Hall. On July 23, 2016, the sanctuary was renovated to restore the tabernacle and install new reredos. The parish now serves about 1,800 families.

Our Lady of Grace offers a full schedule of weekend and daily Masses (weekday Masses are celebrated in the chapel), along with regular Saturday confession and Friday Eucharistic Adoration. The parish also live-streams Mass via YouTube for those who cannot attend in person.

Staff & Clergy
Our Lady of Grace and Saint Benedict Parish in Marguerite are served by a shared pastor and a parochial vicar. Father Ken, a native of Export, PA, returned to Our Lady of Grace as pastor on June 16, 2025 — many long-time parishioners remember him as a newly ordained parochial vicar here in the early 1980s. Father Levi Mantica joined the staff in August 2023 as Parochial Vicar of the partner parishes.

Faith Formation
Our Lady of Grace offers formation opportunities for all ages, rooted in the conviction that faith is sustained and deepened through the Sacraments, prayer, formation, and service. The parish seeks to cultivate a culture of discipleship through programs that engage every stage of life.

Youth Ministry
The parish runs two parallel youth ministries that gather on Sunday evenings during the school year. Both welcome teens from any school district — parishioners and non-parishioners, Catholics and non-Catholics — who want to share a common faith through fellowship, learning, and service.

Liturgical Ministries
Liturgical worship at Our Lady of Grace is the work of the whole assembly, and the parish offers a wide range of lay ministries that assist the presider and community at Mass. All volunteers ages 18 and older must complete state and diocesan Safe Environment clearances and training before serving.
- Altar Servers — any baptized Catholic who has received First Communion; formal training required
- Hospitality Ministers — greeters, ushers, and those who assist visitors and those with special needs
- Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion (EMHC) — assist with distribution of the Body and Blood of Christ
- Sacristans — prepare vessels and items for Mass, including distribution of ashes on Ash Wednesday
- Cantors — lead the sung Word of God at Mass; informal audition and rehearsal attendance required
- Premier Choir — sings 10:30 AM Sunday Mass (Oct–Christmas, Feb–Easter); rehearses Wednesdays 6:00 PM
- Memorial Choir — sings for funeral and memorial Masses (mostly weekdays, occasional Saturday)
- Youth Musicians (grades 6–12) — sing at scheduled Youth Masses
Music Ministry
Music ministry is a vibrant part of parish life, with choirs and cantors supporting the congregation's sung prayer throughout the liturgical year.

A hallmark of Our Lady of Grace since its founding has been reaching out beyond the walls of the church to serve the needs of the wider community. Today this outreach takes shape in food ministry and in pastoral care for the sick and homebound.
