About Our Lady of Good Counsel · Quincy, Massachusetts

Our Lady of Good Counsel is a Roman Catholic church located at 237 Sea Street in the Merrymount neighborhood of Quincy, Massachusetts. It is now one of two worship sites of Holy Trinity Parish in the Archdiocese of Boston, joined with Most Blessed Sacrament Church in Houghs Neck to form the Catholic home for seaside Catholics along the Quincy peninsulas. The parish offers daily Mass, weekend Masses, confession, Eucharistic Adoration, a Faith Formation program for grades 3–9, and a Militia of the Immaculata prayer group under the patroness's guidance. All weekend and weekday Masses are livestreamed on the parish website and Facebook page.

About Holy Trinity Parish

Holy Trinity Parish is the Catholic home of the seaside Catholics along the Quincy peninsulas, formed from the combination of two parishes along Sea Street: Our Lady of Good Counsel in Merrymount and Most Blessed Sacrament in Houghs Neck. The parish describes itself as 'a welcoming parish that seeks to bring the message of the Gospel to all who enter our doors.' Parish offices are located at 227 Sea Street, with Our Lady of Good Counsel Church at 237 Sea Street, Most Blessed Sacrament Church at 1031 Sea Street, and St. Thomas Aquinas Hall at 40 Darrow Street.

Our Lady of Good Counsel Church (Merrymount)

Our Lady of Good Counsel Church sits at 237 Sea Street in the Merrymount neighborhood of Quincy. It hosts the 6:00 PM Saturday Vigil Mass, the 10:30 AM Sunday Mass, all weekday Masses (7:00 AM and 9:00 AM Monday–Friday), the Wednesday evening 'Light Is On for You' hour with Confession, Adoration and the Rosary, and weekday morning Adoration from 8:00 to 9:00 AM. The lower church is unlocked during the day for private prayer visits and is used in the winter months for some Masses and Adoration.

Parish Devotions and Prayer Life

Alongside Mass and the sacraments, Our Lady of Good Counsel maintains a robust devotional life under the patronage of Our Lady of Good Counsel. The parish daily prays the Angelus and the Rosary, and hosts the Militia of the Immaculata (MI) — a worldwide Marian movement founded by St. Maximilian Kolbe — with a weekly Holy Hour on Tuesdays at 6:30 PM that combines prayer for the troubled world with Bible study.
