About Our Lady of Fatima · Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania
Our Lady of Fatima Parish was a Catholic faith community in downtown Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, centered at Saint Mary of the Immaculate Conception Church, the historic mother church of the Wyoming Valley. In 2021 the parish entered a linkage with Saint Nicholas Parish one block away, and on September 5, 2023, the Diocese of Scranton formally consolidated the two parishes into the new Saint Nicholas–Saint Mary Parish. The community continues to worship and serve under the care of Pastor Rev. Joseph D. Verespy, offering English and Spanish liturgies, live-streamed Sunday Mass, and outreach rooted in nearly 170 years of Catholic presence in the city.

Parish History
The parish's roots reach back to 1858 with the founding of Saint Mary of the Immaculate Conception, which became the mother church of the Wyoming Valley.
