Our Lady Mother of the Church (OLMC) is a bilingual Catholic parish in Commerce City, Colorado, part of the Archdiocese of Denver. History & Servite Roots
OLMC grew out of the post-World War II migration of Italian-American families from Denver's older north-side parishes — especially Our Lady of Mount Carmel — into the north-metro suburbs of Adams, Boulder, and Jefferson counties. According to a History Colorado study, the Servite Fathers expanded from Mount Carmel into new Italian-oriented parishes in this period, including 'St. Catherine's, or Our Lady Mother of the Church, Commerce City (1948).' GCatholic dates the parish's founding to 1954. As the north-metro demographic shifted, the parish's identity transformed from an Italian-American congregation into the predominantly Hispanic Catholic community it is today, while retaining its Marian patroness under the title Mother of the Church — a title formally given to Mary by Pope Paul VI in 1964.

Religious Education / Educación Religiosa
The parish runs a comprehensive bilingual Religious Education program for children and youth. The elementary program covers 3rd through 8th grade over two years of catechism, offered in English and Spanish. There is also a bilingual High School Religious Education program preparing teens for Confirmation. Adult catechesis is offered through RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) in English and RICA in Spanish. The 2024–2025 program year begins in mid-September with sessions on Sundays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays depending on the track.

Sacraments / Sacramentos
OLMC prepares parishioners for the seven sacraments of the Church. The Sacraments page on the parish website outlines requirements and steps for Baptism, First Communion, Confirmation, and Marriage. Parents are expected to be registered members of the parish, and pre-baptism classes are required. Couples preparing for marriage must complete pre-marriage preparation and meet with a priest.
