The Chapel of Our Lady Help of Christians was placed on both the National and New York Registers of Historic Places in 1978. The parish is part of the larger Catholic Family of Cheektowaga, which includes St. Josaphat, Resurrection, and Queen of Martyrs. The family operates under a central office and shares resources and ministries, including a food pantry at St. Josaphat that serves all four parishes. The parish has undergone a 'Road to Renewal' initiative and is currently in a bankruptcy settlement process as of 2026.
