Notre Dame Catholic Church (Parroquia Nuestra Señora / "Our Lady") is a multicultural Roman Catholic parish of the Archdiocese of Galveston–Houston, located in the Alief area of southwest Houston, Texas, at 7720 Boone Road. Founded in 1969 by 173 families, it has grown into a community now serving roughly 2,600 families from European, Hispanic, Asian, African and Indian Catholic backgrounds, with liturgy celebrated in both English and Spanish. The parish follows the Archdiocese of Galveston–Houston and is led by Pastor Father Vincente Agila, together with parochial vicars, deacons, and a full staff of faith-formation, music and youth-ministry personnel.

Notre Dame is a large, truly multicultural Catholic community where Mass is offered several times each day — in English and in Spanish, with weekday 6:15 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. Masses and five Sunday Masses (four of them live-streamed on YouTube). The parish invests deeply in the next generation through Youth Formation and a Confirmation program, in adults through Adult Formation and the RCIA process for adults and children, and in liturgical life through bilingual Holy Hours, Our Mother of Perpetual Help Novena, the Notre Dame Choir, the Angels children's choir, and a Spanish choir. With Confession available several times a week, Eucharistic Adoration three nights a week, and a broad range of parish ministries, Notre Dame is a place to worship, to learn, and to serve in the heart of southwest Houston's Alief neighborhood.

About Notre Dame Catholic Church

Parish History & Growth
Founded in 1969 by 173 families, Notre Dame quickly outgrew its original 5,000-square-foot, 750-seat sanctuary. Throughout the 1970s the parish added a parish hall and three Continuing Christian Education buildings (about eight classrooms each), completed in 1975. By the mid-2000s the parish had grown to roughly 2,600 registered families — about fifteen times its founding size — and launched a $5.7 million first-phase capital campaign. A groundbreaking was celebrated in April (with Archbishop Emeritus Joseph A. Fiorenza), and the redesigned complex — designed by Turner Partners Architecture and built by Brookstone Construction — opened in 2009 for the parish's 40th anniversary. The new complex includes a main sanctuary, a 100-person day chapel, and a circular driveway, while preserving the beloved 'Blessed Mother' stained-glass window from the original church.

Faith Formation & Religious Education
Notre Dame runs a full continuing-Christian-education program for children and youth, with year-round registration and formation tracks. The parish emphasizes family involvement — especially for the sacraments of initiation — and uses the standard RCIA-adapted-for-children framework for school-age candidates.

RCIA & Adult Formation
The parish offers the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults for adults wishing to become Catholic, as well as an adapted RCIA process for children age 7 and older who have never been baptized. Both tracks prepare candidates for Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist — typically received together at the Easter Vigil. Adult Formation includes ongoing catechetical programs to help adult parishioners deepen their faith throughout the year.

Youth Ministry & Confirmation
Notre Dame's Youth Formation program ministers to middle-school and high-school youth, accompanied by a Confirmation program that prepares teens to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation. Youth formation and Confirmation registration is coordinated through the CCE/Youth Office (281-495-1256). The parish also historically supports Scouting programs (Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts) on its campus.

Music & Liturgy
Music is a centerpiece of Notre Dame's worship life. The parish is supported by the Notre Dame Choir (adults), The Angels children's choir, and a Spanish-language choir. Devotions
Beyond daily Mass and Confession, Notre Dame nourishes its people through a small but steady rhythm of devotions. The Wednesday evening English Mass is paired with the Our Mother of Perpetual Help Novena, and weekly Holy Hours of Eucharistic Adoration are held in Spanish (Tuesday and Thursday) and English (Wednesday).
