Most Holy Trinity is a Roman Catholic parish in Covington, Louisiana, on the north shore of Lake Pontchartrain, belonging to the Archdiocese of New Orleans. The parish was established in 2006 in the wake of Hurricane Katrina, when Catholic families displaced from the New Orleans side of the lake settled across the causeway and swelled the Catholic population of western St. Tammany Parish. After nearly a decade meeting in temporary quarters, the parish dedicated a purpose-built church, parish life center, and pastoral center in 2016 at 501 Holy Trinity Drive. Today Most Holy Trinity serves over a thousand registered families with daily Mass, multiple Sunday Masses, faith formation (CCD), and an active calendar of roughly two dozen ministries. The parish runs a stewardship model of parish life and operates Holy Cross Cemetery as well.

Parish History & Katrina Origins
Most Holy Trinity was established in 2006, less than a year after Hurricane Katrina, when the Archdiocese of New Orleans created a new parish to serve the thousands of Catholic families who had relocated across Lake Pontchartrain to St. Tammany Parish. The first pastor, Father Rodney Bourg, was chosen because of his experience building a parish from the ground up. The community met first in a Mandeville senior living facility and then in a former pet-store storefront in Covington, while the Archdiocese planned a permanent campus.

Church Building & Campus
The current Most Holy Trinity church was dedicated in 2016 and was built by DonahueFavret Contractors for the Archdiocese of New Orleans. The 17,000-square-foot church sits on a structural steel frame finished with plaster and architectural precast; the steel trusses are exposed and painted to evoke the wooden columns of older Catholic churches. A faux-wood metal pan ceiling, high-end acoustics, AV, and salvaged-and-restored stained glass round out the interior.

The parish operates a CCD (Confraternity of Christian Doctrine) religious education program for children, directed at the parish by the Director of Religious Education. By 2013 the program was described as 'robust' and continued to serve the families who relocated from the south shore after Katrina.
