Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church is a bilingual (English and Spanish) Roman Catholic parish in Angleton, Texas, the county seat of Brazoria County. It belongs to the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston and traces the modern chapter of Catholic life in Angleton back to the St. Thomas Aquinas and St. Basil parishes, which merged in 1994 and were re-dedicated under the name Most Holy Trinity on the Feast of the Holy Trinity, June 18, 2000. The parish is served today by diocesan priests and a sizeable staff of deacons, faith formation, music, youth and outreach ministers. History of the Parish
Catholic life in Angleton began with house gatherings and travel to Danbury before Sacred Heart Church was dedicated in November 1931; that building was destroyed in a 1932 storm. In 1944 the Basilian Fathers arrived from Rosenberg and served St. Thomas Aquinas, a bilingual mission of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Rosenberg. St. Basil was canonically erected in 1957, with first Mass on January 1, 1960. In 1994 St. Thomas Aquinas and St. Basil merged; on Palm Sunday, April 16, 2000, the unified community celebrated its first Mass under the name Most Holy Trinity, and the church was dedicated on the Feast of the Holy Trinity, June 18, 2000, by Archbishop Joseph Fiorenza.

Faith Formation and Youth
Faith formation at Most Holy Trinity spans childhood through adulthood. A Director of Evangelization & Catechesis coordinates adult formation (typically including RCIA), a dedicated coordinator runs K–5 religious education, and a separate youth minister serves junior-high and high-school students.

Outreach and Social Ministry (St. Thomas Center)
Outreach is a defining mark of Most Holy Trinity. The former St. Thomas Aquinas property at 415 S. Erskine Street has been repurposed as St. Thomas Center and houses the parish's social-ministry services, providing clothing, food, shelter, transportation, and utility assistance while networking with other assistance agencies. The food pantry partners with the Houston Food Bank and serves Angleton, Danbury, Rosharon, and the wider Brazoria County area.

Sacraments
The parish celebrates the full range of Catholic sacraments. Couples prepare for marriage through the parish; children receive First Reconciliation and First Communion through the K–5 program; Confirmation is prepared through the youth ministry; and the sick may call the Sacramental Emergency line.

Pastors & rectors through the years

The Basilian Fathers staffed the parish from the founding of St. Thomas Aquinas in 1944, through the canonical erection of St. Basil in 1957, and continued under that order when St. Basil and St. Thomas Aquinas merged into Most Holy Trinity in 1994/2000. Fr. David Zapalac, CSB, served as one of the well-known Basilian pastors. The order withdrew in July 2016 to focus its efforts elsewhere.
