About Huttig Chapel and the Newman Center
Maryville University Huttig Chapel (the Charles M. Huttig Memorial Chapel) is the Catholic chapel of Maryville University in Town and Country / West County, Missouri, and the spiritual home of the university's Catholic Newman Center. The chapel is part of the Archdiocese of St. Louis and serves as the principal worship space for Catholic Mass and other liturgies on campus during the academic year. The Catholic Newman Center offers students opportunities to strengthen their faith and Catholic identity through prayer, liturgies, retreats, sacramental participation, and faith programming, while remaining welcoming to people of all backgrounds.

History of Huttig Chapel
Huttig Chapel was constructed in 1981 as part of Maryville University's West County campus. When the Religious of the Sacred Heart relocated Maryville College from its original south St. Louis campus in 1961, much of the original Gothic chapel's sacred art was preserved. The stained-glass windows in Huttig Chapel — including the Woman of the Apocalypse and the Four Evangelists — were created by the Mayer family of Munich and were moved to the new chapel. Today the chapel is recognized as one of the architectural and artistic focal points of the Maryville campus.

Catholic Newman Center
The Catholic Newman Center is the campus Catholic ministry of Maryville University. Its offices are located in McNally House, Room 106. The center supports students' faith life through prayer, liturgies, retreats, sacramental preparation, fellowship, and service opportunities, while welcoming students of all faith backgrounds.

Center for Community Engagement and Well-being
The Center for Community Engagement and Well-being (formerly the Center for Community and Spiritual Engagement) coordinates Catholic ministry alongside other spiritual, service, and community engagement programs at Maryville. It is located in McNally House, adjacent to Parking Lot 7, and is staffed by a director and the Catholic Newman Center Priest.

The current Catholic Newman Center Priest at Maryville University is Father Jacob Braun, who previously served on the inaugural Totus Tuus team in the Archdiocese of St. Louis in 2017 prior to his ordination. Steve DiSalvo (Stephen DiSalvo) is listed as Director of the Center for Community and Spiritual Engagement and is a long-standing point of contact for the Catholic Newman Center.
