Mary Our Queen Catholic Church invites all — newcomers, returning Catholics, those exploring the Faith, and lifelong parishioners — to join a community rooted in the Archdiocese of Atlanta. The parish's stated mission is to lead all to Christ by living the Sacraments, teaching the Faith, and serving others. Visitors are warmly welcomed with the scriptural reminder that 'where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them' (Matthew 18:20). History and Heritage
Mary Our Queen was founded in November 1994 (per GCatholic records) as a parish of the Archdiocese of Atlanta in what is now Peachtree Corners, Georgia. After meeting in earlier worship spaces, the parish community grew and constructed the current church building on The Corners Parkway under the leadership of previous pastors. The parish was recognized as a Jubilee Church for the Holy Year 2025. Long-time parishioner Jim Gaffey observed that 'former pastors led in the building of our new church,' a sentiment shared at the installation of the current pastor.

Parish Staff and Clergy
The parish is led by Pastor Rev. Charles Byrd, who arrived in July 2021, assisted by two deacons, Rev. Mr. Tom Gotschall and Rev. Mr. William Boyd. A Faith Formation staff (including Rachel Henke, Elementary Faith Formation Coordinator, and Lindsey Martin, Youth Minister) and parish staff (Business Manager, Bookkeeper Christina Anderson, Administrative Coordinator, Communications & Mission Advancement lead Laurie Galucki, Facilities manager Jetta Hanover, and Director of Music Anne Boshinski) support the parish's operations and liturgical life.

Rev. Charles Byrd — Pastor
Father Byrd was born in Columbus, Georgia in 1964 and raised in Newnan by parents who were educators in Coweta County. He came to Catholicism in his twenties while living in Louisville, Kentucky, where he sang in a Catholic choir and even served as cantor for the Latin Mass. He completed pre-theology at a Benedictine seminary in southwestern Pennsylvania, a Bachelor of Sacred Theology at a Jesuit university in Rome, and a License in Sacred Theology at a Dominican university in Rome. He was ordained a deacon in St. Peter's Basilica by the future Pope Benedict in 1999 and ordained a priest in Atlanta by Archbishop Donoghue in 2001. He has served at St. Andrew in Roswell, taught at St. Vincent Seminary in Latrobe, served at the Cathedral of Christ the King, and pastored Our Lady of the Mountains in Jasper for over twelve years before coming to Mary Our Queen. He is known for his love of liturgy, history, art, and sacred music, and celebrated the 25th anniversary of his ordination in 2026.

Faith Formation — Vita Christi Catechesis Program
Mary Our Queen's religious formation program, Vita Christi Catechesis, follows the liturgical calendar of the Church so each season's lessons reflect on the life and ministry of Christ. The program serves youth from Pre-Kindergarten through High School, supplemented by at-home formation. It is a holistic Catholic formation that introduces children, in age-appropriate ways, to Scripture, the Catechism, Church history, Catholic traditions, and the great saints — building a 'culture of Faith' rather than just lessons.

Becoming Catholic (OCIA)

Parish Life and Fellowship
Parish life at Mary Our Queen is enriched by the MOQ Women's Guild, Prime Diners (a senior fellowship ministry), and the Knights of Columbus, who host community drives such as the annual School Supply Drive. Music and Liturgy
