Mar Thoma Sleeha Cathedral in Bellwood, Illinois, is the cathedral church of the St. Thomas Syro-Malabar Catholic Eparchy of Chicago, an Eastern Catholic jurisdiction erected by Pope John Paul II in 2001. The cathedral was dedicated on July 5, 2008, by Cardinal Mar Varkey Vithayathil, and a grotto on its grounds was later dedicated in October 2011 by Major Archbishop George Alencherry. It serves the Syro-Malabar Catholic community of the Saint Thomas Christian tradition, with Masses celebrated in English and Malayalam.
