History and Founding
The Diocese of El Paso records the establishment of Immaculate Heart of Mary in 1983, while GCatholic notes its canonical establishment on 1 August 1985. From the start the mission has been served as a satellite of St. Patrick Parish in Canutillo, which provides the priests and deacon who minister at the Westway chapel. In 2016 the mission was named a Jubilee Church during Pope Francis's Extraordinary Jubilee of Mercy, joining other churches of mercy designated across the Diocese of El Paso.
