The Immaculate Heart of Mary Oratory is a personal oratory of the Diocese of San Jose, California, canonically erected on December 11, 2013, by Bishop Patrick McGrath and entrusted to the Institute of Christ the King Sovereign Priest (ICKSP). It was originally hosted at Five Wounds Portuguese National Church and serves as the diocesan center for the celebration of the Traditional Latin Mass (Extraordinary Form of the Roman Rite). As the western-most apostolate of the ICKSP, it is staffed by canons of the Institute and is presently a 'pilgrim church' searching for a permanent home in the greater Bay Area.

About the Immaculate Heart of Mary Oratory
The Immaculate Heart of Mary Oratory is a personal oratory in the Diocese of San Jose, California, dedicated to the celebration of the Traditional Latin Mass (Extraordinary Form of the Roman Rite). It was canonically erected on December 11, 2013, by Bishop Patrick McGrath and entrusted to the priests of the Institute of Christ the King Sovereign Priest (ICKSP). A canon of the Institute serves as rector, and the oratory functions as the diocesan center for the Extraordinary Form. History and the Pilgrim Journey
From its founding in 2013 the oratory was hosted at Five Wounds Portuguese National Church in San Jose. After the COVID-19 pandemic forced the community out in March 2020, the oratory spent roughly three years moving from place to place — a parking lot, a shopping center, a school chapel, and an office complex. Canon Ueda has chronicled this period as a 'pilgrim church' chapter, sustained by faith and a common goal. To find a permanent home in the Bay Area, the oratory launched the 'Tradition 4 Tomorrow California' fundraising campaign, with over $1,000,000 raised as of recent reports.

Sacraments and Sacramental Preparation
The oratory prepares and administers the full range of Catholic sacraments. Couples and families are asked to contact the rector in advance to receive proper instruction, and registered membership is required for infant Baptism and for the children's preparation programs.

Despite — and partly because of — its itinerant status, the community is described as a close-knit family. A Building Committee composed of oratory members drives the search for a permanent chapel and keeps the community informed through periodic updates.

Development: Tradition 4 Tomorrow California
Launched in October 2021, the Tradition 4 Tomorrow California campaign seeks to establish a permanent home in the greater Bay Area for the Traditional Latin Mass and the Institute's mission. Initial fundraising goal was $2,000,000; the oratory reports having raised over $1,000,000 through Sunday collections, a Bocce Ball tournament, a Matching Gift Campaign, and an End-of-Year Appeal. A monthly Mass on the 22nd is offered for the intentions of donors.
