Our Pastor — Fr. Santiago Corona-Bernal
Fr. Santiago Corona-Bernal leads the parish as pastor. Ordained on May 25, 2019, after earning a Master of Divinity in 2018 and serving his diaconate, Fr. Santiago spent three years as Parochial Vicar at Immaculate Conception Parish in Elmhurst, Illinois, and two years at St. Matthew Parish in Glendale Heights before being appointed to the Immaculate Conception / Our Lady of Guadalupe cluster. Before coming to the United States, he grew up in Mexico and spent ten years in a missionary/religious community beginning in 2005, an experience he credits with deepening his discernment of a diocesan vocation.

Sacramental Life
The parish celebrates the central sacraments of Catholic life for its three-town community. Mass is celebrated on a regular weekly cadence as detailed above. Reconciliation (Confession) is offered by Fr. Santiago by appointment, so that parishioners may experience the healing power of God's love and mercy at a time that works for them.

Diocese of Joliet
Immaculate Conception Parish belongs to the Diocese of Joliet in Illinois, which was erected on December 11, 1948, and became a reality on March 24, 1949. The diocese was formed from DuPage, Will, Grundy and Kankakee counties taken from the Archdiocese of Chicago; Kendall County from the Diocese of Rockford; and Ford and Iroquois counties from the Diocese of Peoria — the latter being the county where this parish is located. The diocese traces some of its parishes back more than 150 years and today serves more than 550,000 Catholics across its seven counties.
2025 Jubilee Year of Hope
Immaculate Conception Church in Gilman was blessed to be named an official 2025 Jubilee Pilgrimage Church during the Jubilee Year of Hope declared by Pope Francis. The Jubilee Year began on December 24, 2024, and continues through December 2025, a time for Catholics around the world to renew their faith, deepen their relationship with God, and experience His abundant mercy. As a Jubilee Church, the parish offered special opportunities for prayer, Eucharistic Adoration, Confession, and other events throughout the year, and pilgrims who visited the church had the opportunity to obtain a Plenary Indulgence under the usual conditions.
