Our History — From the 'Rock Church' to Chapel Road
The Catholic congregation of Pulaski was built around the Rock Church, a Gothic-style chapel of native limestone built at 416 South First Street and dedicated as the Church of the Immaculate Conception on August 10, 1941. Its construction was supported by a major gift from Mrs. Ethel V. Mars and her daughter Mrs. Allan Feeney in memory of Mr. Frank Mars, founder of the Mars Candy Company and owner of Milky Way Farms. The limestone chapel served Catholic worship in Pulaski until July 10, 1984, when it was sold to the adjacent First Baptist Church and renamed Mars Chapel. In 2002, First Baptist donated the building to the Trail of Tears Memorial Committee, which on October 31, 2002 lifted the entire 300-ton structure onto a 122-wheel trailer and moved it three blocks to its present site, where it now functions as the Trail of Tears Interpretive Center. The parish itself continued under the Diocese of Nashville and is today gathered at 100 Chapel Road, served by priests of the Carmelites of Mary Immaculate (C.M.I.).

The parish maintains a regular devotion of the Rosary before Sunday Mass, building a moment of Marian prayer into the run-up to the liturgy.
