Our History
Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Osakis, Minnesota was incorporated on August 11, 1899. Before its construction, local families traveled to nearby Belle River or West Union for Mass. After completion, 45 families became parishioners. The church was dedicated on December 17, 1899, by Bishop James Trobec of the St. Cloud Diocese, with a Solemn High Mass assisted by Father Ildephonse Molitor. The West Union choir and local singers provided music, and the sermon was delivered in both English and German. The church had a seating capacity of 400 with a magnificent altar and two side altars.
