Our History & Centennial Celebration
Immaculate Conception Parish was established in 1924 in Marrero, Louisiana, and has served the Catholic faithful of the Westbank for a century. To mark this milestone, the parish held a year-long centennial celebration that began with a bilingual Vigil Mass on December 8, 2023. The festivities included a 'Celebrating A Century' Gala hosted by Immaculate Conception School at English Turn Golf & Country Club. The main Centennial Mass took place on July 13, 2024, with Archbishop Gregory Aymond serving as the main celebrant. The year of celebration concluded with a bilingual Mass on the Feast of the Immaculate Conception on December 9, 2024.

Mass & Worship Schedule
Immaculate Conception Church offers a robust schedule of Masses in both English and Spanish to serve its diverse congregation. Weekend Masses are available on Saturday evening and throughout the day on Sunday, while daily Masses provide regular opportunities for worship during the workweek.
Weekend Mass
The Vigil Mass is celebrated on Saturday at 4:00 PM in English. Sunday Masses are held at 8:00 AM and 10:00 AM in English, followed by a Spanish Mass at 12:00 PM, and an evening Mass at 6:00 PM in English.

Daily Mass
Daily Mass is celebrated Monday through Friday at 6:00 PM in English. On First Fridays and First Saturdays, an additional morning Mass is offered at 8:00 AM.

Altar Society
The Altar Society prepares and maintains the altar and sanctuary so that Masses may be offered in an orderly and reverent manner. Membership is open to men and women and includes various committees such as Linen Cleaning, Church Cleaning, Floor Cleaning, and Art & Environment. The society also hosts a First Monday Rosary and Mass, and conducts an annual spring cookie bake sale to help defer the costs of cleaning supplies and seasonal adornments.

Immaculate Conception School
Immaculate Conception School provides a student-centered, Catholic learning environment with a family atmosphere. Founded in 1924 in Marrero, Louisiana, the school embodies the Salesian philosophy of reason, religion, and loving kindness, challenging students to develop their potential as good Christians and honest citizens. The school is inspired by St. John Bosco and St. Mary Mazzarello.

Clergy & Staff
The parish is currently under the pastoral care of Fr. Stephen Leake, a priest of the Salesians of Don Bosco (SDB). Raised on the Westbank in a devout Catholic family, Fr. Leake joined the Salesian Seminary program at Don Bosco College in Newton, New Jersey, and graduated from Seton Hall University. He was ordained to the priesthood on August 26, 2000, and has served in parishes in the United States and Mexico. For sacramental emergencies, Fr. Leake can be reached directly at (504) 982-6924.
