Holy Trinity is a Roman Catholic parish located at 2420 Drex Avenue in Norwood, Ohio, in the Archdiocese of Cincinnati. It is one of five parishes that make up the Crescent Family of Parishes, alongside the Church of the Resurrection, Nativity of Our Lord, St. John the Evangelist, and St. Saviour. The parish was formed in 1994 through the consolidation of Norwood's three historic Catholic parishes — St. Elizabeth (1884), St. Matthew (1905), and Sts. Peter and Paul — and is pastored as part of the Crescent Family by Father Patrick L. Sloneker. Holy Trinity is the home of the Crescent Parishes' Spanish-language Mass and shares vibrant faith formation, sacramental, and outreach ministries with its sister parishes.

Holy Trinity is a Roman Catholic parish of the Archdiocese of Cincinnati, located at 2420 Drex Avenue in Norwood, Ohio. Since 2022 it has been part of the Crescent Family of Parishes — a 'Beacons of Light' grouping that also includes the Church of the Resurrection, Nativity of Our Lord, St. John the Evangelist, and St. Saviour. Parish History
The Catholic story in Norwood begins in 1884, when the Rev. John Stoepplemann founded St. Elizabeth as the city's first Catholic parish. Two more parishes followed in 1905 — St. Matthew and Sts. Peter and Paul — each building permanent churches in 1922 and 1940. By the late twentieth century, declining enrollment prompted the Archdiocese of Cincinnati to consolidate the three parishes in 1991; Rev. Michael Bidwell became the first pastor of the new Holy Trinity Parish, dedicated in 1994 at the former Sts. Peter and Paul site. The combined grade school, renamed Holy Trinity School, opened with more than 300 students, ran for 12 years, and closed in 2006 — merging with St. John School in Deer Park to form St. Nicholas Academy. The former school building on Drex and Moeller avenues was later sold to United Cerebral Palsy of Greater Cincinnati and eventually demolished, with its cornerstone preserved.

Faith Formation and Religious Education
The Crescent Parishes run a robust, parish-wide faith formation program available to Holy Trinity families. Programs include the Parish Religious Education Program (PREP), Breaking Open the Word, the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd Atrium (which celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2026), Vacation Bible School, High School Formation, and Confirmation Prep. The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) welcomes those preparing to enter full communion with the Catholic Church.

Adult Faith and Spiritual Growth
Adults at Holy Trinity and across the Crescent Parishes are invited to ongoing faith formation through book studies, prayer groups, and seasonal programs. Deacon Royce Winters leads a virtual Scripture Study on Monday evenings from 6:30 to 8:00 PM. Women meet weekly for the Wednesday Wonderings book discussion group. During Lent, parishioners are invited to a six-week virtual study of St. Paul's Letter to the Ephesians. Other offerings include That Man is You Men's Fellowship, Rosary in a Year, and the Crescent Family Mission.

Music and Liturgy
The parish's music ministry leads the congregation in worship through music and song across the Crescent Parishes' weekend liturgies. The choirs include a Contemporary Ensemble, a Traditional Choir, a Children's Choir, and a Children's Bell Choir, with opportunities for instrumentalists as well.

Outreach, Charity, and Service
Holy Trinity parishioners are deeply involved in local outreach. The Crescent Parishes Garden — blessed by Fr. Pat Sloneker — has produced more than 800 pounds of organic produce distributed through Last Mile Food Rescue and local food pantries. Parishioners also serve dinner at Tender Mercies the third Tuesday of each month, prepare meals for parishioners facing illness or crisis (More Than a Meal), and drop off homemade Soup for Shut-ins at the parish office. Other service opportunities include the Knights of Columbus, Boy Scouts/Cub Scouts, and homebound visits.

Sacraments
Holy Trinity celebrates the Catholic sacraments in both English and Spanish. Baptisms, Anointing of the Sick, marriage preparation, and Communion to the homebound are arranged through the parish office. Confession is heard in English on Saturdays at St. Saviour (3:00–3:30 PM), in Spanish at Holy Trinity on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays (7:00–9:00 PM), and by appointment.

Gardner and Father David A. Lemkuhl assist him. Deacon Royce Winters serves as Director of Evangelization for the Crescent Parishes and as Parish Life Director at the Church of the Resurrection (effective July 1, 2026, when COR will become a Jesuit-led parish under Fr. Paul Lickteig). Cari Craver has been promoted to Director of Evangelization for the Crescent Parishes. Crescent Family of Parishes
Since 2022, Holy Trinity has shared pastoral leadership and many ministries with four neighboring parishes under the Archdiocese of Cincinnati's Beacons of Light initiative: Church of the Resurrection, Nativity of Our Lord, St. John the Evangelist, and St. Saviour. The shared vision: 'We seek to grow as disciples of Jesus and to follow His example of love and compassion. We welcome all to our diverse and unified Catholic community. We share vibrant celebrations of the Eucharist, engage in life-long faith formation, and offer ourselves in service to others.' Beginning July 1, 2026, the Church of the Resurrection will separate from the family to be led by the Jesuit Community of Cincinnati, with Fr. Paul Lickteig as its new pastor.

In his welcome letter, Fr. Pat Sloneker invites parishioners and visitors to three commitments: attend Sunday Mass, share your gifts and talents, and be active in lifelong faith formation.
