Holy Trinity is a large Catholic parish in Lenexa, Kansas (a southwest suburb of Kansas City), in the Archdiocese of Kansas City in Kansas. Founded in 1880 by twenty Catholic families, it has grown into a community of roughly 2,500 registered families — about 8,000 people — served by a full staff of priests, deacons, faith-formation directors, and a school that is the largest parochial school by enrollment in the state of Kansas. The parish runs a daily and Sunday Mass schedule in English, perpetual Eucharistic Adoration in its Adoration Chapel, an active Catechesis of the Good Shepherd program, and ongoing parish, school, and worship-space improvements through a multi-phase capital campaign.

Parish Identity & Heritage
Holy Trinity Catholic Parish has served Lenexa, Kansas, since 1880, when twenty Catholic families requested and received permission to found the parish. Before that, Lenexa's Catholics shared a pastor with St. Joseph's in Shawnee and worshipped in the Krumm home. The parish is now part of the Archdiocese of Kansas City in Kansas and is one of the larger parish communities in the archdiocese, with roughly 2,500 registered families (about 8,000 people).

The 1911 Stone Church — A Downtown Lenexa Landmark
The original frame church (built 1882) was replaced in 1910–1911 by a stone church designed in a simple, modified Romanesque Revival style — rounded arches, barrel vaulting, deeply recessed windows, rough-faced masonry, a central steeple, and a modified Latin cross floor plan. Kansas limestone was quarried just a quarter mile north of the site and donated by Mr. and Mrs. Max Zahner; one stained glass window was donated by Mrs. William Strang. The total cost was $16,000, about half of normal thanks to donated materials and volunteer labor. The interior was rehabilitated in 1992 for $150,000. The marble communion rail was removed in the late 1960s, but the building is otherwise remarkably intact and still used for weddings.

Clergy & Parish Staff
The parish is led by a pastor supported by associate pastors, multiple deacons, and a robust formation and administrative team. Fr. Mike Koller, a Topeka native and retired Air Force officer/educator, has been pastor since July 2011. Fr. Travis Mecum serves as associate pastor (since July 2020). Fr. Keith Chadwick is also an associate pastor. Four deacons are assigned to the parish: Stuart Holland, Tom Greer, Dana Nearmyer, Joe Allen, and Bill Graveman (some serve in additional archdiocesan roles such as Prison Ministry or Catholic Community Health chaplaincy).

Daily and weekly devotional prayer is woven into parish life, including a daily Rosary before the first morning Mass and Adoration times in the chapel several days a week.

Faith Formation & Religious Education
Holy Trinity runs an unusually wide formation ecosystem anchored by the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS) Atrium program. CGS is a Montessori-based approach to the religious education of children that uses presentations based on the Bible and liturgy, and the parish offers training, scholarships, and catechist formation opportunities. A separate Order of Christian Initiation for Children (OCIC) walks children age 7 and older (and their families) into full initiation through Baptism, First Eucharist, and Confirmation. Adult faith formation and evangelization are led by Director Jeremy Heinen.

Holy Trinity Catholic School
Holy Trinity Catholic School is the largest parochial school by enrollment in the state of Kansas. Located on the parish campus at 13600 W. 92nd Street (a separate address from the parish office), the school is dedicated to the spiritual, academic, emotional, and physical development of all students, empowering them to build a virtuous community, think critically, and become disciples for the Catholic Church and the world.

Stewardship is led by Jackie Ehler (Director of Stewardship & Development, joined the parish in 2008 and promoted to director in January 2025). The parish runs an Annual Stewardship Appeal, a Harvest Gala & Auction, planned giving through a Legacy Society, stock and matching-company giving, Venmo, and a major multi-phase Capital Campaign titled 'Honoring Our Past. Building Our Future.' that invests in school and worship-space improvements while preserving the warmth and mission of the parish.
