Holy Trinity Parish in La Crosse, Wisconsin, was established in 1887 to serve the growing Catholic community on the south side of the city. The parish began with a temporary church, Saint Nicholas, which was replaced by the current Holy Trinity Church in 1894. Over the decades, the parish has expanded its ministries, including education through Holy Trinity High School (founded in 1915) and community activities like bowling and social events. Today, it continues to serve as a spiritual and social center for its parishioners, offering regular Masses, sacraments, and pastoral care.

Parish History
In 1887, Bishop Killian Flasch appointed a committee to establish a new parish on La Crosse’s south side. The first church, Saint Nicholas, was dedicated October 30, 1887, and the first Mass was held November 8, 1887. In 1894, a new church dedicated to the Most Holy Trinity was built and consecrated December 4, 1894. The original church was converted into classrooms for the Franciscan Sisters’ school. Holy Trinity High School opened in 1915 as La Crosse’s first Catholic high school and closed in 1928. The parish celebrated 100 years of service in 1987. The church building underwent remodeling in the 1940s–1950s and again in the 1970s.
