Why belong here
Holy Trinity is a parish that actively invites newcomers in: greeters welcome you at the church doors, a Welcoming Ministry follows up after you register, and the parish keeps things personal by serving more than 20,000 complimentary coffee and donuts a year after Sunday Mass. Its vision centers on forming missionary disciples through four pillars — hospitality, prayer, formation, and service — and it supports every stage of Catholic life, from OCIA for those exploring the faith, through sacramental preparation for children and youth, to a parish school (TK–8) and weekly Eucharistic Adoration with Benediction on Thursdays. Our History
In 1992, a group of 600 people came together to form a new Catholic faith community in western El Dorado County. They had no land, no church, and no buildings. What they did have was a desire to share the Good News of Christ with all they encountered. Today, that community is known as Holy Trinity Parish. Over a quarter-century since its founding, Holy Trinity Parish has grown to be a vibrant, Christ-centered community of more than 1,500 families.
- Founded in 1992
- Now more than 1,500 registered families
- Holy Trinity School established 2003
Our Mission, Vision, and Values
The parish states its purpose as: 'To proclaim the Gospel so that all will be one in Christ for the glory of God.' Its motto — 'To know Jesus and to make Him known' — drives everything the parish does. Its vision describes Holy Trinity as 'a Catholic community forming missionary disciples who live as stewards committed to hospitality, prayer, formation, and service.'

Sacraments
Holy Trinity celebrates the seven sacraments and prepares parishioners for each. Sacramental preparation for Penance, Eucharist, and Confirmation is described as 'a developmental process that includes formation at home, in the classroom, and within our entire parish community — because in faith a child does not stand alone.' The Diocese of Sacramento requires a minimum of six months of marriage preparation before a wedding.
- Baptism, First Penance, First Eucharist, Confirmation
- Marriage — six months of diocesan preparation required
- Anointing of the Sick — for serious illness, surgery, or frail elderly

Order of Christian Initiation (OCIA)

- For unbaptized adults and children

Faith Formation
