Holy Trinity Catholic Church is a Latin-rite parish in the Diocese of Colorado Springs, located at 3122 Poinsetta Drive on the north side of Colorado Springs, Colorado, in what is now the Venetian Village neighborhood. Established in 1959 by Archbishop Urban J. Vehr of the Denver Archdiocese, the parish grew from a congregation of 450 families that first worshipped in a bar — the Crazy Cat Lounge on North Nevada Avenue — into a thriving community with its own church, school, stained-glass windows, and active lay ministries. Today it offers a Traditional Latin Mass alongside the Novus Ordo, daily and weekend Masses, Eucharistic adoration, OCIA, Knights of Columbus Council #582, a robust music ministry, and outreach through the Marian House Soup Kitchen, SHARE Food Program, and the parish's Hope House.

Holy Trinity is a stable, mid-sized parish where you can worship in either the ordinary form or the Traditional Latin Mass (Sunday 11:00 am) and find a place to serve: more than thirty lay-led ministries cover the altar, the choir loft, the classroom, the soup kitchen, the pro-life movement, the food pantry, and the parish's own Hope House. The community remembers its roots — the parish was built by ordinary families willing to push tables together in a bar to make their first altar — and that same hands-on culture continues through the Knights of Columbus, the Ladies Guild, OCIA, and weekly Coffee and Donuts after Sunday Mass.

Parish History
Holy Trinity was established on August 28, 1959, by Archbishop Urban J. Vehr of the Denver Archdiocese, on 5.6 acres purchased from A.V. 'Tony' Venetucci in what is now the Venetian Village neighborhood. The first Masses were celebrated in the Crazy Cat Lounge bar on North Nevada, then a Laundromat, then a gymnasium-community center built in 1960. The current church was designed by Paul D. Maybury (with modifications by Royce Angell of Angell-Currie Associates), built by G.E. Johnson Construction, and completed in June 1979. Thirteen pastors have shepherded the parish; the current pastor, Father David Boroff, was installed August 5, 2018.

Pastor — Fr. David Boroff
Father David Boroff was born in Southern California and grew up as an only child. He first began discerning a priestly vocation at age eight. After his father left the family, he moved with his mother to Nashville, Tennessee, where he attended Father Ryan High School. He began college in Houston, Texas, while his mother — a registered nurse with a doctorate in her field, now teaching nursing at a university — was transferred to Dallas. Father David moved to Colorado Springs and, at Bishop Sheridan's invitation, joined the Diocese of Colorado Springs in August 2010. He completed his remaining theology studies at St. John Vianney Seminary in Denver, served a pastoral year at St. Francis of Assisi in Castle Rock and then at St. Paul's, was ordained a deacon in May 2012, and was ordained a priest on June 1, 2013. He served as parochial vicar at Ave Maria Parish in Parker, then as pastor of St. Mary's of the Rockies in Bailey, before being assigned pastor of Holy Trinity effective July 1, 2018, with installation Mass on August 5, 2018.

Liturgy & Worship Ministries
A wide range of liturgical ministries supports the celebration of Mass and the sacraments. The Music Ministry, led by Music Director Dr. Sharon Hershey, OCDS, prepares concert pieces for Christmas, Easter, and Holy Trinity Sunday, and trains cantors to sing the responsorial psalms and other Mass parts. Ushers, greeters, lectors, extraordinary ministers of Holy Communion, and altar servers all keep the liturgies running with hospitality and reverence.

Faith Formation & OCIA (RCIA)
Faith Formation for children and youth, Confirmation preparation, and the Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA, formerly RCIA) are central to the parish's mission of forming disciples. The OCIA team, Phil & Connie Pratt, walks adults through the process of entering the Catholic Church. Faith Formation and Confirmation are coordinated by Joan Kilman.

Parish life at Holy Trinity is marked by an extensive web of lay-led groups, service opportunities, and social events — from Coffee and Donuts after Sunday Mass to monthly Senior Dinners, Boy Scouts in the Hope House, and the annual Marian House Soup Kitchen volunteer days. Outreach & Social Justice
Outreach is a hallmark of Holy Trinity. The parish operates its own Hope House (expanded and dedicated July 1, 2012, with support from the Knights of Columbus), serves meals at the Marian House Soup Kitchen in downtown Colorado Springs, runs a SHARE Food Program and Giving Tree, and maintains an active Respect Life ministry.

Architecture & Sacred Art
The current Holy Trinity church was designed in 1978 by architect Paul D. Maybury with later modifications by Royce Angell of Angell-Currie Associates, and built by G.E. Johnson Construction Company. The interior decoration committee deliberately chose a subdued earth-tone palette to complement brilliant stained glass windows designed and made by local artist Vincent O'Brien. A 2017 sanctuary remodel funded by donors added a new altar, ambo, tabernacle altar, baptismal font, a Johannus Rembrandt digital organ, and a choir loft — a significant gift to the parish's liturgical life.
