Pastor: Fr. Scott Baier
Fr. Scott Baier was ordained a priest in 2015 after six years of formation at Mount Angel Seminary. Before coming to Sweet Home and Brownsville he served as parochial vicar at St. Luke in Woodburn and St. Anthony in Tigard for a total of six years, and then as pastor of St. Paul, Oregon — described locally as 'the first Catholic church in Oregon.' He was assigned to St. Helen and Holy Trinity by the Archdiocese of Portland effective July 1, 2024. In a February 2025 interview with the Sweet Home newspaper, Fr. Baier said his mission at the parish is to 'deepen people's faith' and to walk with parishioners in their relationship with God and with one another.

Parish Mission & Identity
St. Helen and Holy Trinity share a single mission statement: 'We the parishioners of Saint Helen and Holy Trinity feel we are called by God to live our Faith through the example of Jesus Christ. We seek to create a loving atmosphere in which to praise God. With the guidance of the Holy Spirit we will continue to develop active ministries to achieve peace and justice through love of neighbor.' The parish has hosted periodic parish missions, including talks by Fr. Tony Stephens of the Fathers of Mercy (e.g. 'The Love of the Father,' 'The Younger Son — Accepting Responsibility') and by Fr. Ben Cameron, CPM ('Prodigal Daughters, Prodigal Sons').

Faith Formation & RCIA
Holy Trinity and St. Helen offer OCIA (formerly RCIA) for adults who wish to learn about the Catholic Church or become Catholic, with online registration available through the parish website. Faith formation for children and youth is offered through the parish's religious education program, advertised on the parish website under 'Faith.' Fr. Baier has also hosted 'The Bible in an Hour' sessions at both Holy Trinity and St. Helen.
