Parish Identity & Mission
Holy Spirit Catholic Church proclaims that by Baptism its members share in Christ's mission as Priest, Prophet and King. The parish describes itself as 'a fellowship of believers, made in God's image and called as disciples of Christ to share the Good News with everyone through learning, listening, praying and working together actively to reach out to our local communities. We are a place to believe, belong, and become.' Holy Spirit serves over 4,000 families across southwest Dallas County and is part of the Diocese of Dallas.
History of Holy Spirit
The parish was founded in 1974, celebrating its 50th Anniversary on Pentecost Sunday, May 19, 2024. Auxiliary Bishop Greg Kelly of the Diocese of Dallas was the celebrant at the 10:00 AM bilingual Mass, after which more than 1,000 parishioners enjoyed a free barbecue hosted by the parish and Knights of Columbus Council 8157. Mayor Barry Gordon of Duncanville presented a proclamation to Pastor Fr. Uche Aladi commemorating the milestone.
