Holy Spirit Catholic Church is a small, friendly Catholic parish serving Mims and the surrounding north Brevard County communities of Florida. The parish belongs to the Diocese of Orlando and is led by Father Andrew Wojtan, a Polish-born priest who spent ten years as a missionary in Africa before his assignment to the diocese. Known for its 'Friendly Town' welcome, Holy Spirit offers two Sunday Masses, a robust weekday Mass and Adoration schedule, a faith formation program rooted in Catechesis of the Good Shepherd and Life Teen's Edge and Life Teen youth ministries, and a longtime thrift store outreach called the Holy Spirit Attic Shop on West Main Street. The parish celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2017 and continues to be a tightly-knit, multicultural community centered on the Eucharist and Christ-given mission of discipleship.

Faith Formation & Religious Education
The parish's faith formation program is led by the Parish Catechetical Leader and operates under the conviction, drawn from Matthew 28:19-20, that 'Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations' is the Church's teaching mission. Programs use the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS) model for the youngest children and continue through the Edge middle-school and Life Teen high-school youth ministries. Sacramental preparation is offered for First Reconciliation and First Communion (typically 2nd grade) and for Confirmation (6th grade and above). Adult formation includes RCIA, Bible Study, and small groups.

The parish is led by Father Andrew Wojtan, Pastor — a priest born in Poland who served for ten years as a missionary in Africa before joining the Diocese of Orlando; he became a U.S. naturalized citizen in 2014. He is supported by a small but dedicated staff: an Office Manager/Parish Catechetical Leader who runs the parish office and faith formation registration; a Director of Music; a maintenance lead; and the manager of the parish Attic Shop thrift store.

Liturgical & Music Ministry
Volunteers serve throughout the Mass and devotional life of the parish in a variety of liturgical roles, supported by a Music Ministry that uses both traditional and contemporary instruments and a parish choir. Children and teens have, in recent years, been invited to join a special Children's and Teen Christmas Choir that sings at the Christmas Eve Vigil Mass.

Outreach, Charity & the Attic Shop
Holy Spirit Catholic Church lives out its mission of discipleship in tangible ways through several charity and outreach arms. The parish operates the Holy Spirit Attic Shop, a thrift store at 3234 W. Main Street in Mims that has been providing inexpensive clothing and household goods to the surrounding community since 1968. The Attic Shop is staffed entirely by volunteers — no paid positions — and is open Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Proceeds and donated items support individuals and families in north Brevard County.

Prayer & Devotional Life
Beyond the Mass and Eucharistic Adoration, Holy Spirit maintains an active devotional life centered on the Blessed Sacrament, the Blessed Virgin Mary, and the Divine Mercy. The parish also runs a Prayer List ministry via its website where parishioners can add names of the sick or deceased for prayer in the bulletin for two weeks.

Sacraments
Holy Spirit celebrates the full complement of Catholic sacraments. Sacramental preparation is offered for children (Baptism, First Reconciliation, First Communion, Confirmation), while adults enter the Church through RCIA. The parish supports engaged couples through Marriage preparation and brings the sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick to the ill, the hospitalized, those near death, and those awaiting surgery — both in a monthly chapel anointing and by request. Bereavement support is available through the Ministry of Mercy.

True to its reputation as 'the Friendly Town parish with the big heart,' Holy Spirit celebrates its community with hospitality events that bring parishioners together across generations. Coffee and donuts follow both Sunday Masses, and the parish gathers for seasonal events — a parish Seder Supper, Thanksgiving Dinner, Advent Mission with visiting priests, Christmas Angel Tree, Christmas Eve Vigil Mass, and more — coordinated by the Council of Catholic Women, Knights of Columbus, and adult small-group volunteers.
