Holy Rosary Parish is a Roman Catholic parish in New Holstein, Wisconsin, part of the Diocese of Green Bay. Founded in 1910, it serves the Catholic community of New Holstein in Calumet County and is one of three linked parishes — along with Ss. History of Holy Rosary
The Holy Rosary Congregation was established in 1910, and its first Mass was celebrated at the old New Holstein firehouse on 26 March 1911. A small, frame, Gothic Revival-style church was completed that same year. A rectory was built in 1919 along Illinois Avenue and the parish received its first resident pastor. As the congregation grew, Sheboygan architect W. C. Weeks designed a new combination church and school, completed in 1938 with 82 students. From 1944 to 1954 school enrollment tripled and the number of parishioners nearly doubled. A home for the Sisters was built in 1948; a two-classroom addition with kitchen and gymnasium-auditorium was added in 1951, and the 1911 church was razed the same year. In 1960 the present Contemporary-style church, designed by Robert W. Surplice and modeled after a church in Storm Lake, Iowa, was completed; the 1938 worship space was remodeled into classrooms. A new rectory was built south of the 1960 church and the 1919 rectory was relocated in 1978 to 1716 Jackson Street, where it remains a private residence. In 2007 Holy Rosary School merged with Ss. Peter & Paul School in Kiel to form Divine Savior Catholic School.

Architecture & Campus
The Holy Rosary Church Complex at 1724 Madison Street is comprised of four buildings: the 1938 church/school (Collegiate Gothic, stone-sheathed, two-story, crenelated parapet); the 1951 classroom and gymnasium addition (flat-roofed, brick, with glass-block gym windows); the 1960 Contemporary-style church (cruciform, brick with stone trim, gabled wings, large window wall at the Madison Street entrance); and the 1948 former convent (two-story brick, hipped roof, modest Colonial Revival touches). The current church was designed by Sheboygan architect Robert W. Surplice and modeled after a church in Storm Lake, Iowa.

Sacramental Life
Holy Rosary celebrates the seven Catholic Sacraments across the tri-parish community. Baptisms are arranged at least one month in advance and prepared by Deacon Dennis. First Reconciliation and First Eucharist are typically received by students in 2nd grade, with First Eucharist celebrated at a Sunday Mass in late April or early May. Confirmation is received by high-school students in the fall of senior year, celebrated jointly with Ss. Peter & Paul and St. Ann. Anointing of the Sick is available by appointment. Couples should contact Fr. Alvan Amadi at least six months before a wedding. Holy Orders formation (deacons and priests) is conferred by the Bishop.

Faith Formation & Religious Education
The tri-parishes publish a Faith Formation Handbook and grade-level schedules for students in K through 10th grade at Holy Rosary. The parish Religious Education office is located in New Holstein at 1814 Madison Street, and the tri-parishes also share a Religious Education office in Kiel (409 Fremont Street). Faith Formation is open to parish families for Sacramental preparation and ongoing catechesis for children not enrolled at Divine Savior School.

Divine Savior Catholic School
Divine Savior Catholic School was formed in 2007 through the merger of Holy Rosary School (New Holstein) and Saints Peter & Paul Catholic School (Kiel), continuing a combined 160-year tradition of Catholic education in the area. The school is a member of the Green Bay Diocese, supported by Holy Rosary, Saints Peter & Paul, and St. Ann parishes, and is hosted in Kiel at 423 Fremont Street. The pastor of the tri-parishes, Fr. Alvan Amadi, is the parish leader for the school.

The collaborative allows the three small parishes — Holy Rosary in New Holstein, Ss. Peter & Paul in Kiel, and St. Ann in St. Anna — to sustain a fuller Sacramental, catechetical, and pastoral life together than any could alone.
