Parish History
Holy Redeemer was created on August 13, 1906 by Archbishop Alexander Christie, who appointed the Very Rev. Edward Cantwell, C.S.S.R. as founding pastor. The Redemptorists ran the parish through 2000, and the Congregation of Holy Cross took over in 2002. The first Mass was held on September 16, 1906 in the Keller Sanitarium; a combined church/school/hall followed in 1907, and the present church was dedicated in 1927 (renovated 1961 and 2007).
