Holy Redeemer Catholic Parish is a growing mission parish of the Diocese of Fort Worth serving Aledo, Texas, and the broader East Parker County community. Worship is offered in English, with Saturday Vigil Mass, two Sunday Masses, and weekday Masses Monday through Friday (no Tuesday Mass). The parish is led by Pastor Rev. Joseph Keating and two deacons, and is supported by an active lay community of roughly 370 registered families with weekly Mass attendance of about 600. Holy Redeemer offers a full schedule of English-language Masses throughout the week. The Saturday Vigil at 5:30 PM (preceded by the Rosary at 5:00 PM) is also livestreamed from the parish website. Two Sunday Masses are celebrated at 8:00 AM and 10:30 AM, each preceded by a half-hour Rosary (7:30 AM and 10:00 AM). Weekday Mass is offered Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday at 9:00 AM (no Tuesday Mass).

Our Clergy and Staff
Holy Redeemer is pastored by Rev. Joseph Keating, who succeeded founding pastor Msgr. Publius Xuereb in 2024. Msgr. Xuereb continues to serve the parish as Pastor Emeritus after retiring in 2024 following 56 years of priesthood. Two deacons — Dcn. Steve Dixon and Dcn. Wilfried Lampka — assist with liturgy and ministry, and Dcn. Steve facilitates the parish Liturgy Discussion Group. Patricia Devlin serves as the parish bookkeeper.

Founding Pastor Msgr. Publius Xuereb
Ordained in his native Malta in 1968, Msgr. Xuereb came to North Texas in 1969 when he met Fort Worth Bishop John Cassata during a visit to his brother in Dallas. He served as pastor or associate at 11 parishes in the Diocese of Fort Worth under all four diocesan bishops. At Holy Redeemer — where he became shepherd in 2009 as the new church building was completed — he personally designed the stained-glass windows depicting the sacraments and native plants, commissioned two large statues of the Holy Family, repaired and refurbished religious statues as a hobby, and started the monthly Mass of Healing. Pope Benedict XVI conferred the title of Monsignor on him in 2012, news that arrived on the anniversary of his mother's death. He retired effective July 1, 2024.
Current Pastor Fr. Joseph Keating
Fr. Joseph Keating became pastor of Holy Redeemer in 2024 and celebrated the 10th anniversary of his ordination in May 2024. Born in Germany while his father served in the USAF, he grew up mostly in San Angelo and graduated from Texas Tech University with degrees in marketing and business. Campus ministry there sparked his vocation; he later worked as a youth minister at St. Mark Parish in Denton before entering seminary and studying at the Pontifical North American College in Rome, where he chanted the Gospel in Latin at St. Peter's Square on Easter 2016. He previously pastored Sacred Heart (Muenster), Immaculate Heart of Mary (Abbott), and Nativity of the BVM (Penelope).
Sacraments and Sacramental Preparation
Holy Redeemer prepares parishioners of every age for the sacraments of initiation and the pastoral sacraments. First Communion and First Reconciliation preparation begins at age 7, is primarily home-based, and includes monthly Sunday-evening gatherings with the Sacramental Preparation Team. Confirmation preparation typically takes place during the sophomore year of high school. Marriage preparation, Baptism preparation, and Anointing of the Sick are available through the parish team, with Anointing celebrated at the monthly Mass of Healing and on request.

OCIA (Order of Christian Initiation of Adults) and Youth OCIA
Adults seeking to join or return to the Catholic Church take part in OCIA classes every Wednesday at 6:30 PM. For children and youth aged 7–17 who have not been baptized, the parish offers an OCIA Adapted for Children program: 2nd–5th graders meet Wednesdays 6:30–7:30 PM and 6th–12th graders meet Wednesdays 7:00–8:15 PM. Families inquire, are evangelized, and discern readiness together; the Sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation, and First Eucharist are typically received at the Easter Vigil.

Religious Education and Youth
Parish School of Religion classes serve children of the parish and meet on the parish campus, with the 2024/25 year beginning August 25. The parish also runs a Sunday Nursery for ages 1–4 during the 10:30 AM Mass, a Little Redeemers Summer Storytime program for ages 2–5, and a Youth Ministry that sponsors the third-Friday monthly Rosary.

Parish Organizations and Lay Groups
Lay faithful have several opportunities for fellowship, formation, and service at Holy Redeemer. The Knights of Columbus Council meets the 2nd Tuesday and 4th Thursday at 7:00 PM, and the Men of Holy Redeemer gather the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays at 6:30 PM. The Liturgy Discussion Group, facilitated by Deacon Steve, meets the 2nd and 4th Fridays from 10:00–11:30 AM and is open to anyone at any meeting. The parish Choir rehearses on Wednesday evenings.

Outreach and Online Giving
The parish extends its mission beyond the church walls through its Eucharistic Visitor program, which brings Holy Communion to the homebound and to those in care facilities (request via [email protected]). Campus and Architecture
The Holy Redeemer campus is a thirty-acre site with a 25,000-square-foot church building completed in March 2009. Construction was managed by FPI Builders, who reported value-engineering savings of over $135,000 across major CSI divisions during the build. The sanctuary features stained-glass windows designed by Msgr. Publius Xuereb depicting the seven sacraments alongside native plants, and two large statues of the Holy Family.
