About Holy Innocents · Warr Acres, Oklahoma

Holy Innocents' Chapel, in Warr Acres on the northwest side of Oklahoma City, is the first stand-alone perpetual adoration chapel in the State of Oklahoma. Founded in 2011 by Father M. Price Oswalt, it was deliberately built next door to an abortion clinic in order to place the Real Presence of Jesus Christ in the Eucharist just twenty feet from the place where abortions were being performed. The chapel operates around the clock, 365 days a year, with the specific mission of praying for an end to abortion and for the protection of all human life. It is an outreach of the Catholic community of Oklahoma City, in communion with the Archbishop of Oklahoma City and in obedience to the Magisterium.

Why belong here

Holy Innocents' Chapel offers Catholics and other Christians an extraordinary opportunity to adore the Blessed Sacrament in the Eucharist continuously, day and night, 365 days a year — the first such stand-alone perpetual adoration chapel in Oklahoma. Its location and mission make it a powerful place of prayer for the unborn, for mothers in crisis pregnancies, and for the end of abortion. Visitors are welcome to come pray, and those who wish to make a deeper commitment can sign up as a dedicated adorer for a regular weekly hour. It is a quiet but consequential frontline of Catholic pro-life witness in central Oklahoma.

Our Story and Mission

Holy Innocents' Foundation of Oklahoma is an outreach of the Catholic community of Oklahoma City, in communion with the Archbishop of Oklahoma City and in obedience to the Magisterium of the Catholic Church. Its mission is to maintain a perpetual adoration chapel, promote pro-life teaching, work to end abortion on demand, and aid women in crisis pregnancies. The chapel is conceived as 'the front line of the battle between ultimate Good and the ultimate evil of our day': the Real Presence of Christ in the Eucharist placed a mere twenty feet from an abortion facility in Warr Acres, Oklahoma.

Founding (2011) and the First Decade

Father M. Price Oswalt spent years praying about a similar chapel project he had encountered in Albuquerque, New Mexico. After the building next door to Outpatient Services for Women (6112 N.W. 63rd Street) became available through a Christian benefactor, the Holy Innocents' Foundation purchased the chapel space and opened it in March 2012, with the foundation itself having been organized in 2011. The project cost roughly $750,000 in donated funds and in-kind gifts, and is entirely privately financed — it is not owned by the Archdiocese of Oklahoma City, though it received Archbishop Paul Coakley's blessing.

  • Founded 2011; chapel opened March 2012
  • Approximately $750,000 raised privately
  • Blessed by Archbishop Paul Coakley
  • 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status granted by the IRS

Pro-Life Witness Next Door

The original abortion clinic adjacent to the chapel shut down in December 2014. A second abortion provider later moved into the same office complex; it too eventually closed. According to the foundation, pro-life volunteers who kept vigil at the clinic reported about one baby saved per month before the chapel opened, and roughly twenty babies saved in the first months of its operation. In 2023, Oklahoma passed legislation banning almost all abortions, but the foundation notes that the RU-486 abortion pill remains available and capital punishment is still enforced — reasons the work is far from over.

  • First adjacent clinic closed December 2014
  • Second abortion provider also later closed
  • Oklahoma banned most abortions in 2023
  • Foundation continues to pray for an end to abortion and all threats to human life

How You Can Help

The foundation operates entirely on the prayers, time, and treasure of its supporters and lists three concrete ways to be involved. Because the chapel is privately funded and not supported by the Archdiocese, donations and committed adorers are essential to keeping the doors open.

  • PRAY — Ask the Lord to bring the foundation's work to fruition.
  • VOLUNTEER — Sign up as a regular adorer before the Blessed Sacrament by emailing [email protected].
