History and Heritage
Holy Ghost Parish traces its origins to 1909 when Father Aloysius Heick, SVD, established the church in Jackson's Midtown neighborhood. As one of Mississippi's historic African American Catholic parishes, it was aided financially by St. Katharine Drexel and has been staffed by the Society of the Divine Word for over a century.

Worship and Sacraments
The parish celebrates the Eucharist daily during the week and offers multiple Sunday Masses, including a Saturday vigil. The sacrament of Reconciliation is available before Wednesday evening Mass.
