About Holy Family Parish

Parish History
Holy Family Parish is a young parish but stands on a long Catholic heritage in Arcadia. It was created in 2005 after the closures of St. Michael's (2003) and Our Lady of Perpetual Help (2005), inheriting their worship sites and the local Catholic school. The community took the name Holy Family — honoring the Holy Family of Jesus, Mary, and Joseph — and the parish school was renamed Holy Family Catholic School.
- 1889 — St. Aloysius School opens Sept. 3, with 58 students and two School Sisters of Notre Dame from Milwaukee.
- March 1914 — St. Stanislaus School opens, staffed by Sisters of St. Joseph from Stevens Point; English and Polish taught in all eight grades.
- February 12, 1918 — Our Lady of Perpetual Help trustees vote to build a new school.
- September 1968 — St. Aloysius and St. Stanislaus schools consolidate into Arcadia Catholic School.
- 1976 — Students from Sacred Heart Parish, Pine Creek, join Arcadia Catholic School.
- 2003 — St. Michael's Parish closes.
- 2005 — Our Lady of Perpetual Help closes; Holy Family Parish is formed.
- November 2009 — School moves into new facility at 532 McKinley St., on the former St. Stanislaus school site.
Mass & Liturgy
Holy Family offers a full weekly schedule of Masses in English and Spanish. Weekday Masses are celebrated Wednesday through Friday at 8:15 am, with Monday and Tuesday having no Mass at the parish. The Saturday Vigil is at 4:30 pm in English, followed by an 8:00 pm Mass in Spanish. On Sunday, an English Mass is celebrated at 10:00 am and a Spanish Mass at noon.

Sacraments
Holy Family prepares parishioners for and celebrates all seven Catholic sacraments. Parents expecting a child should contact the parish office to schedule Baptism preparation; First Communion and Confirmation are typically completed through the parish school and CCD program; Reconciliation is available at the regular confession times; and the parish celebrates Matrimony, Anointing of the Sick, and Christian funerals by arrangement with the pastor.

Faith Formation & Religious Education
Beyond the parish school, Holy Family runs a K-8 CCD (Confraternity of Christian Doctrine) program and Confirmation classes, both hosted in the school facility at 532 McKinley Street. The school and CCD programs together form one continuous Catholic formation path from preschool through eighth grade for the children of the parish.

Holy Family Catholic School
Holy Family Catholic School is the parish's preschool-through-8th-grade Catholic school and an extension of the education ministry of Holy Family Parish. It opened its current facility in November 2009 at 532 McKinley Street, built on the site where the old St. Stanislaus school once stood. The school is open to all children and is supported by the parish, the school board, and lay and religious staff.
