History of JST
The Jesuit School was established in 1934 as Alma College in Los Gatos, California, to serve the California and Oregon Jesuit provinces. It moved to Berkeley in 1969, becoming part of the Graduate Theological Union and renamed the Jesuit School of Theology at Berkeley. In 2009, it became integrated as a graduate school of Santa Clara University. Today, JST is one of only two Jesuit theological centers in the United States.
