Epiphany Parish is a Roman Catholic parish in Liverpool, New York (Onondaga County, suburban Syracuse) within the Diocese of Syracuse. It is one of three linked parishes that together form the Liverpool Catholic Community, alongside Christ the King Parish and Pope John XXIII Parish (three parishes, four worship sites). Epiphany Parish itself has historically worshipped at two church buildings — Immaculate Heart of Mary (425 Beechwood Ave., built 1951) and Saint Joseph the Worker (1001 Tulip St., built 1974). The Immaculate Heart of Mary worship site was closed by decree of Bishop Douglas J. Lucia effective October 7, 2023, leaving Saint Joseph the Worker as the sole church of the parish.

About Epiphany Parish
Epiphany Parish is a Roman Catholic parish in the Village of Liverpool (suburban Syracuse), New York, in the Diocese of Syracuse. It was formed in 2019 by the merger of two historic parishes — Saint Joseph the Worker (founded 1890) and Immaculate Heart of Mary (founded 1950) — that had been linked in shared pastoral care since 2011. Since October 7, 2023 the parish's sole worship site has been Saint Joseph the Worker Church, 1001 Tulip Street, Liverpool, NY 13088. Epiphany is one of three parishes in the Liverpool Catholic Community, together with Christ the King Parish and Pope John XXIII Parish.

History
Saint Joseph the Worker Parish was established in 1890; its current church was built in 1974. Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish was established in 1950 and its church at 425 Beechwood Avenue was built in 1951. The two parishes were linked in 2011 under a single pastor because of changing demographics, financial pressures, and a shortage of priests in the diocese. In 2019 they were canonically merged (extinctive union) into Epiphany Parish. Beginning in 2020, parish leadership examined whether both worship sites could continue; the answer was no, and on October 7, 2023 Bishop Douglas J. Lucia's decree relegating the Immaculate Heart of Mary church to profane but not sordid use took effect. A final Mass of Thanksgiving was celebrated at IHM on September 23, 2023, with Bishop Lucia preaching and the congregation singing 'We Remember, We Celebrate, We Believe.'

The parish offers a rich schedule of devotions across the Liverpool Catholic Community. The Monday Novena Mass is held at 4:30 PM in the Epiphany Parish Chapel, and a Family Prayer & Rosary gathering meets Mondays at 7:00 PM at Christ the King. Wednesday mornings host the Legion of Mary, and a First Saturday Rosary is prayed at Christ the King at 3:00 PM, with another weekly Rosary on Thursday mornings. Adoration is offered on Monday afternoons, Thursday mornings, and First Friday mornings.

Faith Formation & Youth Ministry
Faith Formation is offered for both youth and adults across the Liverpool Catholic Community, coordinated at the parish level. Amy Wojcikowski serves as Pastoral Associate of Youth Ministry for Epiphany Parish (315-457-6060, ext. 705; [email protected]). Confirmation preparation includes personal interviews for students with Father O'Hara and Miss Amy, held Sunday evenings from 6:00–7:30 PM at the parish rectory, with a shared dinner (pasta and meatballs with a gluten-free option, salad, and ice cream sundaes). Children's Liturgy of the Word is offered during the 10:30 AM Mass at Pope John XXIII.

Liturgical Ministries & Music
Epiphany Parish invites parishioners to serve in a range of Liturgical Ministries on a rotating schedule, with training provided. Open roles include Readers & Commentators, Altar Servers (youth in Grade 3 or older who have made First Communion, and adults who assist at Funeral Liturgies), Eucharistic Ministers (must have received Baptism and Confirmation), Ushers & Greeters (a combined ministry at Christ the King and Pope John XXIII), and Sacristans, who arrive 45 minutes before Mass to prepare the altar, vessels, candles, and the Book of the Gospels, and to lock up afterward. The parish music program is led by Liturgical Coordinator/Music Director Beth Krisher, with a Liturgy Assistant, and the Adult Choir rehearses Saturdays from 2:00 PM–3:30 PM.
