Divine Mercy Parish is a welcoming Catholic faith community in South Scranton built on Word, Worship, Community and Service. Formed in 2009 from the consolidation of four historic parishes, the parish strives to live the traditions and teachings of the Catholic faith while extending Christ’s hospitality to all. The parish worships primarily at Saint Joseph Church and is served by the Oblates of St. Joseph. Whether you are a longtime resident or new to the area, you are invited to join in celebrating the Eucharist and growing in faith together.

Our History
On November 1, 2009, the consolidation of the Church of St. Joseph, St. John the Baptist, Immaculate Conception, and St. Mary’s Czestochowa was completed to create Divine Mercy Parish. A ceremonial inauguration Mass was celebrated, followed by a formal reception at Via Appia in Taylor.
