Divine Mercy Parish is a Roman Catholic parish in Niagara Falls, New York, belonging to the Diocese of Buffalo. Parish Identity & History

Divine Mercy Parish (2437 Niagara Street, Niagara Falls, NY) was established in 2008 as the result of the Diocese of Buffalo's 'Journey of Faith and Grace' reorganization, which combined five east-side Niagara Falls parishes — Holy Trinity, St. Stanislaus Kostka, Our Lady of Lebanon, St. George, and Our Lady of the Rosary — into a single new parish under the name Divine Mercy. By 2016 the parish was worshipping at the former St. Stanislaus Kostka church, preserving a link to the city's Polish Catholic heritage. The parish now operates as one of the worship sites of the Niagara Falls Roman Catholic Family of Parishes under the Diocese's 'Road to Renewal' program.

Faith Formation & Sacramental Preparation

Faith Formation classes for parish children are coordinated across the Niagara Falls Roman Catholic Family of Parishes, with a parish center at 2748 Military Road. The bulletin announces enrollment Masses for First Reconciliation and Confirmation held at the Prince of Peace worship site, where parents and children preparing for the sacraments are expected to be present. The Family office staff overseeing faith formation includes Sr. Joanne, Belinda Pappal, and other catechists who welcome children back each January for the new formation year.

Outreach: Food Pantry

The Divine Mercy Food Pantry is one of four parish-based food pantries operated within the Niagara Falls Roman Catholic Family of Parishes. It is staffed by St. Vincent de Paul 'Vincentians' and other volunteers and serves the area designated by the Food Bank of Western New York. The pantry is open on Thursdays from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM and welcomes both clients in need of food assistance and new volunteers willing to give their time. Devotional Life: Divine Mercy Cenacle

Divine Mercy Parish has a special devotion to the Divine Mercy message of St. Maria Faustina Kowalska. The parish's bulletin notes that 'The 21 members of our Divine Mercy Cenacle Group (E.A.D.M.) — Eucharistic Apostles of Divine Mercy — pray the Divine Mercy Chaplet daily for the intentions of the sick and dying.' Members of the community can request prayers for loved ones by calling 297-2738 (a message may be left). The Chaplet itself is prayed publicly after each daily Mass and again about 15 minutes before each weekend Mass.
