Divine Mercy Catholic Church is a Roman Catholic parish in Clovis, California, within the Diocese of Fresno. It was officially established as a parish on May 15, 2016, after first being celebrated as a Mission church to Our Lady of Perpetual Help beginning November 21, 2010. The community currently worships at temporary locations including Clovis East High School's multipurpose room and, for summer months, Oraze Elementary School in Fresno, while construction of its permanent Worship Center at Ashlan and Thompson Avenues is underway. Its mission is to 'welcome each person as Christ to a warm and friendly environment, where one can be spiritually nourished and refreshed in Christ, to be sent out to spread this warmth and friendliness to all they meet.'

Divine Mercy is a young, growing parish that warmly welcomes each person as Christ into a friendly community rooted in the Catholic Faith. Parishioners are a diverse body of individuals coming together under the guidance of the Holy Spirit to promote the mission of Jesus Christ, with active ministries for every age and interest — from OCIA adult faith formation and faith formation for children, to Knights of Columbus, Catholic Daughters, Music Ministry, Eucharistic Ministers to the Homebound, Prayer Line, Prayer Group, and a Liturgy Committee. The parish extends its reach beyond Sunday Mass through two mission communities at Shaver Lake and Infant Jesus of Prague in Tollhouse, and is currently building its own permanent Worship Center — a once-in-a-generation moment for parishioners to help shape the parish's future.

Parish Story & History
Divine Mercy Catholic Church traces its roots to November 21, 2010, when it celebrated its first Mass as a Mission church of Our Lady of Perpetual Help at Clovis East High School. The young community grew steadily and was officially established as its own parish on May 15, 2016, by Bishop Armando X. Ochoa of the Diocese of Fresno. Parish boundaries now extend from Clovis east to Sanger, south into the city, and up into the foothills at Shaver Lake and Prather. Two mission communities at Shaver Lake Community Chapel and Infant Jesus of Prague in Tollhouse were later transferred to Divine Mercy from Holy Spirit Parish, extending its pastoral reach into the mountain areas.

Building Our Home of Spirit and Life
After more than a decade of planning, waiting, and sacrificial stewardship, Divine Mercy broke ground on its permanent Worship Center at the corner of Ashlan and Thompson Avenues in Clovis. The 'Building Our Home of Spirit and Life' Capital Campaign was launched to help fund the construction, which began in mid-2024. ABC30 reported the steel frame was raised on June 13, 2024, marking a visible milestone for a parish that had been worshipping in school multipurpose rooms since its founding.

Mission Churches
Divine Mercy serves two mission communities that extend its pastoral reach into the mountains east of Clovis. Fr. Craig drives up to Shaver Lake every Saturday afternoon to celebrate the 4:00 PM Mass, with confessions available before Mass — a welcome stop for those playing at the lake or skiing in the area. The Infant Jesus of Prague Mission in Tollhouse hosts the 6:00 PM Saturday Mass.

For adults, Gary Musso coordinates OCIA (the Order of Christian Initiation of Adults) — the Church's process for those exploring Catholicism or completing their sacraments.
