Parish Identity and History
The parish now known as St. Teresa of Calcutta Parish at Corpus Christi Church is a small Roman Catholic community in the village of Housatonic, part of Great Barrington in Massachusetts' Berkshire County. Its present-day organization dates to 1946. In 2009, the Polish-American All Saints Parish in Housatonic merged with Corpus Christi, bringing together the village's Catholic communities under one parish banner. The parish was renamed in honor of Blessed Teresa of Calcutta, and after Mother Teresa's canonization by Pope Francis on September 4, 2016, the name was formally updated to St. Teresa of Calcutta Parish — a change marked by a special Mass celebrated by Bishop Mitchell T. Rozanski and Father William Murphy on the eve of the canonization.
