About Corpus Christi, Mary Mother of God Parish · Mckeesport, Pennsylvania
Corpus Christi Church, located at 2515 Versailles Avenue in McKeesport, Pennsylvania, is one of four worship sites that together form Mary, Mother of God Parish in the Catholic Diocese of Pittsburgh. The parish was established on January 6, 2020, when Bishop David Zubik merged the historic St. Mary Czestochowa, St. Pius V, St. Martin de Porres, St. Angela Merici, St. Patrick, and St. Robert Bellarmine parishes into a single new entity. Corpus Christi Church itself has roots in the Polish St. Mary Czestochowa Parish, founded in 1893 to serve the immigrant mill workers of McKeesport. Today Corpus Christi remains open for baptisms, weddings, funerals, and its feast day, although regular daily and weekend Masses are celebrated at St. Patrick Church in McKeesport and St. Angela Merici Church in White Oak.

Parish History
The parish traces its origins to the Polish immigrant community drawn to McKeesport's steel-tube and wire mills in the late 1800s. St. Mary Czestochowa Parish was founded in 1893, with the combined church-and-school on Versailles Avenue dedicated on July 11, 1895. A school and convent over the basement church followed in 1934-35, and the present upper church was dedicated May 2, 1954. In 2010, declining membership led the diocese to merge St. Mary Czestochowa with St. Martin de Porres and St. Pius V into the new Corpus Christi Parish; in 2020, 'On Mission for The Church Alive!' merged Corpus Christi with the three other parishes to form Mary, Mother of God. In 2023, regular Sunday Masses were consolidated to two of the four churches.
