The Building — Copper Mountain Interfaith Chapel
The Copper Mountain Interfaith Chapel is a striking octagonal A-frame structure in the heart of the resort village, built with beetle-killed logs and topped with a steeply pitched roof designed to shed heavy Summit County snowfall. Large windows offer broad mountain views, and the sanctuary seats approximately 90 people. The adjacent Community Center can add about 70 more seats, allowing about 160 guests in total. The building doubles as a mountain interpretive center with displays on weather, avalanches, and Rocky Mountain ecology.

Parent Parish — St. Mary, Breckenridge
Copper Mountain Chapel is administered under St. Mary Parish, Breckenridge — the historic Catholic heart of Summit County. The parish was founded October 23, 1881, when Old St. Mary Church was raised in just 12 days at High Street and Washington Avenue; it was moved in 1890 to its current French Street site in the Breckenridge National Historic District. Bishop Joseph Machebeuf (Bishop of Denver 1868–1889) and Benedictine sisters and priests from Saint Vincent Abbey, Latrobe, Pennsylvania, shaped the early parish, which ran a hospital and St. Gertrude Academy boarding school. Today St. Mary's operates as part of 'Summit Catholic' together with Our Lady of Peace Mission in Silverthorne.
