The Copper Mountain Community Chapel is an interfaith worship building designed to harmonize with its mountain setting. Sacraments & Catholic Weddings
Because Copper Mountain Chapel is not a parish church, Catholic weddings there are only possible with a 'Permission for Place' from the Archdiocese of Denver. The Archdiocese's Mission Support office lists Copper Mountain Community Chapel (along with Vail Interfaith Chapel and Beaver Creek Chapel) as one of only three non-Catholic venues where this permission is customarily granted. Couples must coordinate with St. Mary Parish, provide the written consent of the local pastor, and follow all Archdiocesan marriage preparation requirements. Interfaith & Community Use
Outside of the Sunday-evening Catholic Mass, the chapel building serves several other faith and community groups year-round. The Copper Mountain Community Church — an ecumenical Protestant congregation pastored by Joshua and Valerie Stock — meets there for Sunday worship and is the principal steward of the building. The Seventh Day Adventists worship in the chapel on Saturdays at 9:30 AM (contact Barbara, 970-513-7242). A yoga class meets in the Community Room on Mondays and Thursdays at 8:15 AM. The chapel can also be rented for private events such as wedding receptions, dinner parties, HOA meetings, family reunions, and piano recitals.
