Christ the King Parish is a Roman Catholic parish in Mashpee, Massachusetts, on Cape Cod, in the Diocese of Fall River. Established in 1984, it serves the entire town of Mashpee along with the villages of Cotuit and Marstons Mills, while drawing members and visitors from across the upper Cape. The parish community gathers around a Federal-style church seating 1,000 and the smaller St. Jude's Chapel (moved from Cotuit), all set on a nearly eight-acre knoll overlooking Mashpee Common. About Christ the King Parish
Christ the King Parish is the Roman Catholic parish of Mashpee, Massachusetts, serving the entire town of Mashpee as well as the villages of Cotuit and Marstons Mills on Cape Cod. Its self-stated purpose is to provide spiritual nourishment and enrichment in harmony with the Second Vatican Council, and to welcome all — accomplished by celebrating the sacraments, preaching the Gospel by word and example, and instructing in the truths of the faith. Our History
The Parish of Christ the King was created in 1984 from sections of Our Lady of Assumption Parish in Osterville. Msgr. Ronald A. Tosti was the founding pastor and oversaw construction of the church and parish complex, which was completed and dedicated on the Feast of Christ the King in 1989. The Federal-style church seats 1,000; the complex also includes the relocated St. Jude's Chapel (seating 85), a parish hall, and a Faith Formation Center. In 2011 the church interior was fully renovated by Palanza Design of Mansfield, MA. Msgr. Tosti served 22 years until 2006, followed by Msgr. Daniel F. Hoye (10 years, until his retirement in 2016), with Fr. Edward J. Healey installed as the third pastor in June 2016.

Mass, Sacraments, and Devotions
The parish offers a robust weekly Mass schedule with five Sunday Masses (7:00, 8:30, 10:30 AM, and 5:30 PM) plus a Saturday Vigil at 4:00 PM and daily 8:30 AM Mass Monday through Friday. Confessions are heard Saturday afternoons from 2:45 to 3:30 PM, or by appointment. Eucharistic Adoration with Benediction is celebrated on First Friday, beginning after the 8:30 AM Mass and concluding at 4:00 PM. A 'Sunday Communion' devotional time is offered Sundays 11:45 AM to 12:30 PM, and additional 5:15 PM Chapel Masses are added on Tuesdays and Thursdays during Lent.

Music Ministry
The Music Ministry enhances the liturgies and reflects the readings of the day. James 'Jim' DeFrancesco is the Director of Music (he holds a music degree from Rhode Island College and a master's in education from Fitchburg State, and is a long-time Cape Cod pastoral musician) and is assisted by Alexandra 'Alex' Paige, the Assistant Director of Music. There is a place in the choirs for almost anyone who can carry a tune.

Faith Formation & Religious Education
Faith Formation is led by Director of Faith Formation Jane Costello, with Youth Minister Sarah Provencher coordinating youth ministry. Programs are designed to form youth and adults in faith, doctrine, and practice from childhood through adulthood, with the goal of completing Christian Initiation through the Sacrament of Confirmation.

Outreach, Charity, and the St. Vincent de Pantry
The parish's charitable arm — 'Care in the Name of Christ' — is funded primarily by the Matthew 25 Fund and encompasses the Christ the King Food Pantry and the Financial & Resource Assistance Ministry. The food pantry was founded by Msgr. Tosti in 1989 and is operated by the parish's St. Vincent de Paul Society. Originally serving 10 households per week, it now serves more than 125 households per week and operates as a drive-thru on Wednesdays. A major capital expansion — the Pantry Project — is currently underway to expand storage, add a client waiting area, build a loading dock, and offer drive-up service.

Pastoral & Health-Related Ministries
Coordinator of Ministries to the Sick and Homebound, Bereavement Support, and Mental Health Donna Erdman oversees a number of caring ministries. She coordinates Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion to the sick (including at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital Cape Cod), facilitates the Seasons of Hope bereavement program, and leads the parish's Mental Health Ministry under the guidance of the Diocese of Fall River. She is a Certified Grief Educator and is in training as a Spiritual Director.
