Christ the King Catholic Church is a welcoming mountain parish of the Archdiocese of Denver, located at 4291 Evergreen Parkway in the foothills community of Evergreen, Colorado. Begun in 1924 as a mission served by priests traveling up Bear Creek Canyon, the community numbers almost 800 families and gathers for daily and weekend Mass, weekly Eucharistic Adoration, and a full slate of faith-formation, liturgical, and outreach ministries. The parish is shepherded by Father Jim Fox and staffed by a team that includes a deacon serving as parish administrator, a Director of Religious Education, a Youth Minister, and a Director of Music. A Hundred Years of Faith in the Foothills
Christ the King's history is a story of Catholic faith planted in the Colorado mountains and steadily grown by generations of families. From the Franciscan priests who first celebrated Mass at the Episcopal chapel, to Monsignor Moran's 1924 founding of the mission, to the 1935 moss rock-and-log chapel, to today's $4.5 million Parish Center, the parish has continually built and rebuilt to serve its community. By the time it became an independent parish in 1951 with 70 families, then grew past 500 households under Monsignor Hoffman in the 1970s, and now numbers almost 800 families, CTK has served as the mother parish for foothill communities including Our Lady of the Pines (Conifer) and St. Elizabeth (Buffalo Creek).

Music and Liturgical Ministries
Liturgy at CTK is supported by a robust Music Ministry led by Dr. Michael Kilcoyne, a musician and educator with 25 years of experience, a Doctor of Arts in Voice Performance & Vocal Pedagogy from the University of Northern Colorado, and degrees from CU Boulder and Ithaca College. He takes an education-based, collaborative approach to help choirs and congregation grow in music reading, vocal technique, conducting, diction, and sacred music history. Parishioners serve at Mass through a Liturgical Ministries program staffed via Ministry Scheduler Pro (Church ID: ctkevergreen).

Faith Formation for Children and Youth
Christ the King's formation programs are centered on the family and the Restored Order of the Sacraments of Initiation, with sacramental preparation beginning in third grade. Children's faith formation is directed by Rosemarie Fearrin, a Denver Catholic Biblical School and Catechetical School graduate and longtime parishioner. The youth ministry is led by Erin Doyle, who has served CTK in various roles since 2012, including Ministries Assistant, co-DRE, Executive Assistant, and now Youth Minister.

The OCIA (formerly RCIA) prepares adults seeking admission to the Catholic Church through the Sacraments of Initiation, with classes running October through Easter, and it also serves adult Catholics seeking Confirmation. Adult Faith Formation, the Biblical & Catechetical School, and a 'Coming Home' outreach round out the lifelong-learning side of parish life.

Outreach and Pastoral Care
Christ the King lives out its mission by responding in charity to human needs in the Evergreen community. Outreach programs include food barrels for the needy, homebound visits bringing Holy Communion to those unable to attend Mass, and the Evergreen Shelter Program — a cold-weather emergency shelter coordinated with At Home in Evergreen and other congregations since 2016. Pastoral care extends to sacramental ministry for the sick (Anointing of the Sick), support for those navigating divorce or annulment, and the Funeral/Christian Burial ministry.

Meet the Staff
Christ the King is served by a small but dedicated parish team led by Father Jim Fox. Deacon Ronnie Hyatt serves as Parish Administrator overseeing day-to-day operations, supporting ministries, supervising staff, and stewarding the parish's resources. Rosemarie Fearrin directs religious education for preschool through 5th grade and sacramental preparation. Dr. Michael Kilcoyne directs Music. Erin Doyle serves as Youth Minister (and helps with VBS). Together they walk alongside nearly 800 CTK families on the mountain.
