Christ the King is a Catholic parish in Byron, Minnesota, rooted in the Diocese of Winona-Rochester. Founded in 1963, it began with Mass in the Byron High School auditorium before parishioners built the present parish hall and church through donated labor and strong stewardship. Today it worships as part of the Triton Parishes cluster alongside Holy Family in Kasson and St. John Baptist de la Salle in Dodge Center. History
Established in 1963 by Bishop Edward A. Fitzgerald, Christ the King grew from a small mission community into a parish built largely by volunteer labor. The first Mass was held in the Byron High School Auditorium, and the original parish hall was constructed on land purchased on Byron’s west edge.
Sacraments
The parish provides the sacraments of Baptism, Holy Matrimony, and Funeral Rites, and prepares adults for Baptism through RCIA.
