The Cathedral of Our Lady of the Rosary is the seat of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Duluth in northeastern Minnesota. Completed in 1957 during the tenure of Bishop Thomas Anthony Welch, it replaced the earlier Sacred Heart Cathedral, which now serves as a music and cultural center. The Diocese of Duluth, erected in 1889 by Pope Leo XIII, encompasses ten counties of northeastern Minnesota.
