Why belong here
Blessed Sacrament is the northeast Warren worship site of the newly formed St. Teresa of Calcutta Parish and offers a full weekly schedule of Masses, weekly Eucharistic Adoration (Tuesdays 9–10 a.m.), and regular confession. The parish is supported by the Parish Visitors of Mary Immaculate religious sisters who live on campus and run faith formation, evangelization, and young adult ministry, and it is home to the K–5 lower campus of John F. Kennedy Catholic School. History of Blessed Sacrament Parish
Blessed Sacrament Parish was established in 1959 to serve the growing Catholic population of northeast Warren and Howland Township. The parish celebrated its first Mass on Christmas Day 1960 and grew steadily over the following decades. In 1982 the parish expanded and updated its facilities, and by the mid-1990s the community decided to build a new church to better serve both the growing congregation and the renewed liturgy of the Second Vatican Council. Ground was broken June 9, 1996, and Bishop Thomas Tobin dedicated the new building on February 21, 1998.

The 2021 Sanctuary Fire and Restoration
On December 12, 2021, a fire broke out in the sanctuary of Blessed Sacrament Church, believed to have been started by a flame from an Advent candle. The fire damaged the ambo (pulpit), the Advent wreath, and the surrounding area; smoke damage was extensive throughout the building. A neighbor walking his dog early in the morning spotted the fire and alerted the Warren Fire Department, limiting further damage. The four-month restoration project included replacing the charred area, cleaning and painting the entire interior (including the 60-foot tower), cleaning the organ, replacing acoustical panels, and cleaning all contents. The congregation worshipped at neighboring St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish during the repairs. The restored church reopened for the Easter Vigil on April 16, 2022, with Bishop David J. Bonnar as principal celebrant at the 8:30 a.m. Easter Sunday Mass on April 17.
