Our Story & History
Blessed Sacrament was established in 1949 when 70 agricultural families pooled their labor and resources to build a church in the small farming community of Tolleson. Their mission was simple: spread the Gospel of the Lord. Today, the descendants of those founding families — children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren — still worship alongside many newer parishioners. The parish describes itself as 'a place to believe, belong, and become' and 'a beacon of light that covers those in need with God's Love.'

Fiesta de Amistad
For more than 70 years, Blessed Sacrament has hosted its annual Fiesta de Amistad, a celebration of friendship and faith that is the parish's biggest fundraiser of the year. The tradition kicks off with the coronation of the Fiesta Queen, whose candidates raise money for the parish, and continues with a community parade, carnival rides, live music, dance performances, and a wide array of food — from classic American hamburgers and funnel cake to gorditas and antojitos. The event is staffed and supported entirely by parishioners and runs across three days on the church grounds.

Mass & Devotions
Blessed Sacrament celebrates Mass in both English and Spanish, with four Sunday liturgies (8 AM and 12 PM in Spanish; 10 AM and 2 PM in English) and a daily 8:30 AM weekday Mass that alternates languages through the week. Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament is held in Spanish on Thursday mornings and Friday evenings, and confessions are heard every Saturday morning. Faith Formation & Religious Education
Faith formation at Blessed Sacrament runs from August through May and is offered for children (K-6), youth (grades 6-12), and adults (OCIA). Children's classes support both First Communion preparation and continuing formation, while the youth program focuses on community, stewardship, worship, evangelización, scripture, and building a personal relationship with God. The parish also hosts Adult OCIA (the Order of Christian Initiation of Adults) for adults seeking baptism or full initiation into the Catholic Church.

Sacraments

First Holy Communion and Confirmation are prepared together through the religious education program. Reconciliation is available every Saturday, and the parish also prepares couples for Marriage. New parishioners are warmly welcomed. Registration forms can be downloaded from the parish website or picked up at the office, then submitted in person or by emailing [email protected]. The parish office is open Monday–Thursday, 9 AM to 2 PM, and closed Friday through Sunday.
