Our History
Blessed Sacrament Parish was founded in the summer of 1956 by Archbishop Robert E. Lucey to accommodate 405 families in the north central portion of the city. Boundaries included Olmos Creek to the south, Missouri Pacific RR to the east, Blanco Road to the west, and extending approximately 4.4 miles north of the intersection of Bitters Road and Blanco Road. The parish celebrated its 70th anniversary in 2026 with a special Mass led by Bishop Arturo Cepeda.

The parish offers a wide range of ministries including Lectors, Eucharistic Ministers, Musicians, Ushers, Faith Formation, Parish School, Ministry of Mercy, Youth Ministry, Women’s Ministry, Men’s Ministry, Catholic Daughters, Knights of Columbus, and Vocations Ministry.
Sacraments
The parish offers all seven sacraments: Baptism, Eucharist, Confirmation, Penance, Anointing of the Sick, Marriage, and Holy Orders.
